Apple iPad’s Stark Competitor, The Adam Tablet To Be Introduced Soon! Since the launch of perhaps the world's most cherished tablet device, Apple iPad in the month of April this year, there has been an incredible frenzy amongst the hardware manufacturers to bring out the one tablet, that could prove to be a stark competitor to the iPad and break Apple's monopoly over the tablet market. Now, Notion Ink, a Bangalore based company, that had showcase its very own Adam tablet device at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2010) this year, has stated that, the device is out of the experimental stages and could hit the markets as soon as by the end of this year. The Adam tablet garnered a lot of appreciation from the tech world and was touted as one of the coolest tablet devices, that could in fact create a competition for the iPad. As per the company, Notion Ink will submitting the device to the U.S Federal Communications Commission for its approval by the second week of November. One of the major differences between the Adam tablet and the iPad will that, the4 Adam will be able to provide the users with a high definition video output of 1080p as against the 720p video capability of the iPad. The Adan tablet will be powered by a Nvidia Tegra 2 chip and will come with a Pixel Qi’s transflective display. Due to this display technology, the Adam will be able to consumer less power, thereby extending the device's battery life. As per Notion Ink, the Adam tablets when introduced, will be available in four different models, that would be categorized as per the display and the wireless connectivity of the device. The company will be shipping out these tablets in both Pixel Qi or traditional LCD screens and will be equipped with either Wifi or 3G wireless connectivity. The Adam tablet could very well be priced between $399 and $498. |
