One of the biggest and highly esteemed magazines, The New Yorker, has been given a digitized avatar, that would enable the users of Apple iPad tablet device to view the magazine and its content on the go. Conde Nast had already released The New Yorker Digital Edition some time ago, that provided archives of the magazine to its subscribers, dating back to 1925. However, this edition had a compatibility problem with the Apple Safari web browser.
With the all new The New Yorker Digital Edition, the users of iPad will now be able to browse through the entire archive of the magazine, with the service serving these users with iPad optimized version of the website, as it will be able to automatically detect whenever the site is accessed via an iPad. The iPad version of The New Yorker Digital Edition will enable the users to view the magazine content in both portrait as well as landscape modes and can even double tap on the screen to zoom in and then scroll the pages.
According to The New Yorker,
"We’ll have our digital edition optimized for iPad in a matter of weeks. When those changes are in place, registered users will automatically get the iPad-optimized version when they visit archives.newyorker.com on an iPad’s browser.”
