A war-prone region poses a number of threats for civil and military staff operating there. There has been need for efficient backup and sheltering systems to help reduce causalities during emergencies and support forces until normalcy is restores. The Concrete Canvas material is a breakthrough in building materials industry which is made out of canvas and concrete. In a matter of less than an hour, the material would change into a structure of 25 or 54 square meters with enough room to accommodate a couple of beds and table.
Structures built of Canvas Concrete material would be resistant to high temperatures, fire and water. The folks who developed this are two young graduates of the RCA, Peter Brewin and William Crawford. They suggest this material is most befitting for military, medical, development, civil or any other emergency.
Given the fact that it is resistant to water and fire, this could help make ideal campsite structures for adventure outdoor trips as well. No word on how soon this would be commercially available.
