The E3 Expo 2010, that was conducted in the month of June this year, turned out to be more than just an exhibition of the latest gadgets and games, as this event brought with it the next generation of the legendary Microsoft Xbox 360. At E3 expo, Microsoft Corporation unveiled the all new Xbox 360 S, a new slimmer version of one of the most cherished gaming consoles in the world.
The all new Xbox 360 S features an in built 802.11n wireless feature, that has replaced previously separately sold wireless adapter for the console, that came with a price tag of $100. Furthermore, Microsoft also upgraded the storage capacity of the console to a cool 250 GB without adding any extra amount to the price of the console. With the new Xbox 360 S, comes five USB ports, as against the three that were standard on the previous version and a separate USB port for Microsoft Kinect, as the Kinect device requires a substantially higher power than that can be provided by the conventional USB ports.
Also, Microsoft techies have managed to make the opening and closing of the disc tray much quieter with by manipulating the thermal and acoustic properties of the new design. The disc speed has been set at 12X, thereby making a quieter than before, but still a bit noisier than the other consoles.
