"Dear Apple Inc, even though your hold on the digital media field is nearly iron clad, yet, watch out for Sony's latest service to hit the PlayStation network." This seems to be the message that Sony Corporation, one of the largest consumer electronics company in the world wishes to send to world's largest technology company. Sony is expected to unveil an all new subscription services in regards to digital media including music and video for the Sony PlayStation network at the IFA technology show in Berlin on September 1st, 2010.
The announcement for this all new service is believed to be slated just a few hours before Apple Inc. begins its much hyped music themed press conference, where the company is said to be providing information in regards to the updates for its iPod, iTunes and Apple TV products. Sony intends to create a platform using the Sony PlayStation game consoles for the users wherein, they will be able to use the newly intended service across a wide range of products including Walkman music players, Vaio computers, Bravia TVs, Blu-ray players and Sony Ericsson mobile phones. The plan is to create a connectivity platform for 90 per cent of Sony products to connect to the Internet and each other as well other by the year 2011.
